This is  one happy  puppy and one very happy  young man! We would like you to  meet  Jamie Eckman and his  newest sister, Midnight Eagle  Feather. This very sweet  puppy was brought to  our Hospital after she was found wandering on the  side of an empty   country  road in north Lakeland. We cleaned her  up and gave her some good food and now have found her a wonderful new home.  Jamie  and his parents had  recently  moved to Lakeland from North Carolina , and on Saturday, March 6, 2004, Jamie came with his   Mother to get  some medicine for the family's cats. Jamie  explained to us that he had a turtle, but what he really  needed was a new puppy ( translated, that means his  own real friend in a new town where he  doesn't know anyone!). Well, it was love at first  sight for   both the puppy and the boy, and now each one has a VERY special  new friend. We are always  happy when we can put a pet in such a wonderful   situation, and it was nice to help  Jamie and  his  family out, too!
