Is there anything as wonderful as a boy and his own dog!!??? We would like you to  meet Derek Gibson and his  new puppy, Smokey (also called Kobie) Smokey is a Labrador Retriever puppy, born on May  15, 2001 and pictured here at his  first Puppy Plan appointment when he weighed 16.2 pounds. He is shown here with his best friend in the whole world, Derek Gibson, and Derek's Dad, Ed, in the background. Smokey not only has Derek to play with, but the Gibsons also have a Rottweiler named Shaq, who Smokey (now you   can see the relevance of the nickname, Kobie!) loves to play with.  He is going to be a beautiful dog and Derek is learning a lot about responsibility, having a new puppy to care for.
