What a great picture! This is Mom, Trisha Koretchko, and all of the  kids, Anna, Drew, Shadow, Jacob,  and  Jessica. Shadow is a Border Collie puppy who was born on July  26, 2003, and is pictured here at her first Puppy Plan appointment on  October 16th when she weighed 15.2 pounds. Trisha and her husband, Mark, had asked us for  a suggestion for a breed of dog which would be good to have with their  four children, and we suggested the Border Collie. It looks like the suggestion has worked well for their family! Inherently, this breed is very sensitive and loves family life, taking good care of the children, especially. Trisha tells us that Shadow practices her herding techniques on the kids, and, as she gets older, she will become protective  of each of them and very loving as well.
