A little history of a business is important:
Dr. and Mrs. Tom Houghton moved to Lakeland in 1972 when Dr. Tom went to work for Dr. Jim Daniels at the current, but much smaller, location on Cleveland Heights Blvd. He had graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1970 with a DVM degree, but soon realized that there is more to managing a veterinary hospital than just providing quality medical assistance. Dr. Houghton went on to complete his MBA degree from Florida Southern College, and together with his wife, Debbie, has expanded both the facility and the services available at CHAH. They have raised four children in Lakeland, and all of the family members have worked in the practice. Currently, their granddaughters, Julia and Anna, are part of the third generation of the family who are "growing up in the practice".
The new facility that they completed in 2004 is designed to be hospitable and convenient, and the entire staff is dedicated to making the pets and their parents feel at home. We believe that our purpose is to provide a caring, well-educated staff who will give the best customer service and the most modern veterinary medical services available in a safe and comfortable environment. We are all part of the CHAH family.
