We want you to meet a very special puppy, Mandy McAlee. She is described here by her best friend, Linda McAlee.

I'm just going to tell you how Mandy has filled a void in my life after losing my dog Sarge(a 65lb lab mix) after 16 years. Sarge was also a patient there at Cleveland Heights. I helped deliver Sarge when he was born out in the country and we had a close bond. Sarge passed away November 19, 2004 and I was there when he took his last breath which tore my heart into pieces. I longed for another dog and felt led to look for a Cocker Spaniel even though I have never owned this breed or even seen one, except for the cartoon movie Lady and the Tramp. After looking in the newspaper for weeks, I finally found an ad for what I envisioned a cocker spaniel to be which is cream colored. I also wanted a female. When we went to see this litter of pups the first time I fell in love with the pup we now call Mandy. Guess what? Her birthday is November 19, 2004. God had brought us together.

 Mandy is so loving, cheerful, and playful! I am a nurse and when I would work the 3-11 shift, I would take her with me. Everyone Mandy meets seems to fall in love with her and she with them, as she meets no strangers. I hope to train Mandy to become a therapy dog so she can lighten the life of others as she does mine. We come to Cleveland Heights at least once a month to see Ms. Judy for Mandy's grooming. When we get out of the car at the clinic this 24 lb pup pulls me to the door of your clinic as she sure knows where she is!. You see we've been bringing her to the clinic just after we got her and we visit often. The clinic is Mandy's second home and she gets so excited to see all of you when we arrive.

To conclude with my story, Mandy is now 9 months old and the light of my life literally. My Grand-daughters who are 2 and 4 years old call Mandy "Nanna's baby" and she is. She has a toy box of own her right beside my grand-daughters' box. I wish I could express in words the love I have for Mandy and I believe she also has for me.
