Robert Houghton, DVM (owner)

Dr. Robert Houghton is a 1998 graduate of George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Auburn University and a DVM from St. George’s University. After completing his clinical year at North Carolina State University, he received additional training as an intern at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine teaching hospital.

Dr. Houghton and his wife, Jackie, have a full household, with their two daughters and new son; Adrienne, Ellis & James, two cats Edgar and Oscar, a long-haired dachshund named George and an Australian labradoodle named Clive.

Dr. Houghton is pleased to announce his ownership and acting position as Medical Director of Cleveland Heights Animal Hospital. His goal is to continue the tradition of excellent medical care for the clients and patients of the hospital. Through our focus on compassionate care, personal service, and unsurpassed professional medical attention, we look forward to the next generation of healthy pets and lifelong relationships.


Jessica Robinson, DVM

Dr. Robinson is a native Floridian, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis on lighting and audio engineering at the University of Florida.  After some time in the work field having a lot of adventures, she returned to her first love, the care of animals.  Dr. Robinson attended veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences in California whose main philosophy is a reverence for life and problem based learning.  After graduation in 2006, it was clear that sunny California had nothing on her home state and traveled back to practice.  Dr. Robinson enjoys international travel, and DIY home repairs.  As well as spending as much time as she can with her chihuahua Lil’ Man Sam.


Ashley Langford, DVM

Dr. Ashley Langford graduated from Lake Orion High School in Lake Orion, Michigan in 2001. She performed her undergraduate work at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. After three years at Purdue she was accepted early into the veterinary program at Texas A&M University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her DVM from Texas A&M in 2008. After graduation she completed a rotating internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, Florida. Dr. Langford then received advanced training in oncology at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Langford, her husband Mark, and their cat Rusty have lived in Lakeland since spring of 2010. In November 2011 the Langfords welcomed their daughter, Camryn, into the world. They enjoy all that Lakeland has to offer a young family. Dr. Langford’s professional interests include internal medicine and oncology.



Kim Patrick, DVM

Dr. Kim Patrick grew up in South Carolina and attended Clemson University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She earned her DVM from the University Of Georgia College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After graduation she joined a small animal practice in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she worked for 11 years.

Dr. Patrick and her husband, Rob, have four children and a myriad of pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and horses. They moved to our area from North Carolina when Rob was called to pastor the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Patrick enjoys all aspects of the veterinary profession, but has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. As an integral member of our veterinary team, she brings an incredible wealth of experience to the practice.


Summer Jenks, DVM


Dr. Summer Jenks grew up in Ohio, but headed south as soon as she graduated from high school.  She has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember.  She received her bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Miami in 1997 and her D.V.M. degree from the University of Florida in 2003.  She then completed a 13 month internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.

Dr. Jenks moved to Lakeland to marry her husband, Michael; they now live in Mulberry with their three children and various pets.  She began her veterinary career in Lakeland at Cleveland Heights Animal Hospital and is excited to be returning as part of a stellar team of veterinary professionals.
